@ RDC now for 45k service. Seems like there is a hike in spare parts price - link rods are costing 2500 each now :(

This is my second time with RDC & the truth is that they didn't disappoint me (I know that this is contrary to most of the TFI'ans experience). The overall experience was quite good . My vehicle was assigned to Mr. Abin, who was really helpful in getting the service done fast & explaining the split up of Labor charges involved. The technician who attended my vehicle were also familiar as I knew him from Concorde. The general service was done quite fast & to my satisfaction. Overall bill came to 7440 INR.

    Bill Details:
Oil sump Plug : 68 INR
A/C filter - 174 INR (Paper Particle cabin air filter by Denso : http://www.denso-am.eu/partImages/ecat/img_2902942018.jpg)
    Air Filter - 297 INR
    Fuel Filter - 1798 INR
    OIL Filter - 359 INR
    Engine Oil - 1663 INR

    Parts Total - 4359 INR
    VAT- 632 INR

    Total : 4991 INR

    Labour Charges : 2180 INR (1350 (45k Service : only Engine oil change & filter changes) + 650 (OBD Scanning !!) + 180 (consumables)
    Service Charge : 269 INR

    Total: 2449 INR

    Grand Total : 7440 INR

    Services Opted Out
    1. Water Wash : 440 INR (My only exercise, that too only once in a week :-D)
    2. Brake cleaning: 900 INR :shocked(Decided to get it done from a nearby garage)
    3. Wheel Alignment: 450 INR (Will be changing the tyres next week from MRF)

**I saw couple of extended warranty rejections citing service not done at correct time. Some of us will be facing this issue in future as there was a delay in getting the service slots from RDC. It is better to get some clarity on this issue from Fiat/ Dealership as these things are out of our hands.

Where did you see this and any more details about this is appreciated. (Like how many excess KM's were done or how much excess time before the service was done )

Glad to know that you had a good experience.

@Naveen : Yes they have stock. They are now replacing wire mesh filter with paper type.

@brandnewpunter : SA s were discussing this when I was there. I guess, in one case the owner missed the service by a month for 2nd yr service, eventhough he has covered only 17k kms. In 2nd case it was some issue with kms covered, I dont actually remember the difference as I didnt get a good look at the document. It is better to get it clarified with FIAT.

In my case, my daily average is 50kms and this service slot was booked almost 20 days ago. I have started searching for alternate ways to source parts locally in case something goes wrong & it is economical also considering the price of spares at FASS. i will be updating the details in this forum once i check out couple of leads i got.

Why they are charging 650 for OBD scanning? Then what does the serviece mean? I never heard of any such thing with TASS.

I am just wondering about the original cost of the equipment.

OBD scanning charging has become a new fashion with RDC if not FASS. I wonder what all ways the firm tries to squeeze the most from the consumer. Was just doing the math, RDC handles like 25 cars a day on an average basis. Let us assume that out of which around 70% are for paid services where the consumer can be charged for anything and everything.
They work 6 days a week, given their charge for so called OBD scanning, 17(70% of 25 cars)*24(No of working days per month)*650=2,65,200. Am sure RDC can buy a dozen of scanners with that cash.

Totally illogical, I think Vecto motors, Bangalore does not charge for this.

OBD Scanning charges... Its looks really ODD.... May be talk to CRM or escalate it to RM Fiat. PM me for RDC CRM contact details.

I will get the RM Service details as well.

May be time for everyone to get an OBD2 scanner :)

I have escalated this to FIAT and had a chat with the RDC FIAT CRM as well yesterday. Hoping to check with RM Service of FIAT in person.

My car is also at RDC for 60k service. Did you ride have TFI stickers.

I was also suggested the same and I denied politely. I do remember an SA at TAFE asking me for this so not entirely new.
