Updates…. I got a call from Insurance (future general) that the claim has been approved; this is on the same day (Wednesday 24-Apr) …. Got a call from SA Dominic on Saturday that the claim is approved and work has started… no ETA given… Today 02-May-2013… I went to the workshop… Presto the work has been completed atleast 95%... few final touches pending… the interior and exterior needed a thorough cleaning… since there were few more things to be done…. I have been promised delivery on 03-May-2013… actually I was not expecting such a early delivery, considering the comments that have been posted here… checked on the bill… approximately 9500 for body work, painting and labor and 3800 for bumper… the shocker was that I have to pay the full amount and get the refund later from the insurance companyreason sited was that the tie-up contract with the insurance has not been done; since it was new…

Is the quoted charges fine? Is the no tie-up reason correct??!!!

The photo of the clean up I got from an Brakeless Maruti Omni is posted below… there are more damages than that can be seen in the photo… considering force of impact... the incision is nothing…. Really happy that I could ride the car back home (500 kms)..

    Insurance deductions are as follows…. processing fee = 1000; …. 50% on bumper = 1900;… 10% depreciation on body work= 950; the total is 3850.

I am concerned whether the insurance will honor this and refund the balance amount; or will a new shock be in store!! Also is the new rule of depreciation applicable for all insurance policies? I thought that it was applicable for new policies taken after 01-Apr-2013. Photo1380 - Copy.jpg

I believe this is the right way forward, even if this means I will most likely have to book a month in advance. Its nice to know that folks from RDC are looking at this thread and taking corrective action. +1 to RDC for this effort.

I have booked my 60k service for May 25th, so lets hope RDC is able to get a handle on the number of cars by then :)

No issues, you can claim after paying. This is normal process of tie-up is not there.

No tie up with future generali? I'm not getting it.

I got a call from RDC regarding my insurance renewal(Future Generali) . I told them that I will renew it online. They said that if I renew it online I wont get cashless claim as there won't be a tie up. What am I missing here?

FG has tie up with Fiat. Even I got a renewal call from RDC sales team for the car bought from VST.

Absolute rubbish. A simple trick is being played to get it renewed through the dealership so that they will get their margin.

Same as above. The margins that the dealership does not want to miss.

Naveen dont renew with FG. Dont ever go for FG from the issues faced from our beloved friend Ajith. Since you have no claim with you try with other insurance personnels else we will discuss it later. BTW when is your last day for renewal.

Krishna is right, one can and should buy/renew insurance themselves.
How you buy doesn't have any impact on tie-ups with service centers.

Just ringed to book an appointment and got one for 3rd June. So if everyone is nearing their scheduled maintenance miles, please do call RDC in advance to get your slot.

Rightly said, Future Generali is a sad insurance when it comes to honouring claims. I will never get a FG again even if any other insurance company does not have a cashless scheme.

All they pressurize is make the commission on the premium. If I were to renew from them, I will ask them to knock that commission margin and reduce the premium amount.

By the I have personally seen Tata AIG, Bajaj Allianze and Royal sundaram insurance for fiats getting my car serviced in Prerana motors. These are nothing but arm twisting techniques to pocket the premium.
