Hmm and they are running this set-up for past 1 month or so without this. Don't know how they are managing it so far - hoping all this changes very soon.

Yeah, let's catch up next week sometime - But I'm hoping that your issue is resolved before that!

Although it's not applicable in your case DRIV3R - I follow Adbul sir's advise religiously, only visit them when it's absolutely necessary.

re: FIAT Exclusive Service Center: RDC Fiat, Chennai

@Flywheel, exactly my concerns both on the turbo part and also on the Fiat exclusive part.

Vecto motors has slots only for 22nd April earliest, even for running repairs. Wondering where we are headed with all this Fiat exclusive stuff.

    RDC Woes

By terminating TASS / other Service Centres and relying on RDC in Chennai- FIAT seems to have thrown out the baby along with the bathwater! From what I'm seeing in the forum RDC is unable to cope and also suffers from poor quality of work. I'm really concerned as I'm due to take my Linea for 15K 2nd free servicing.

They (RDC) are overloaded - I asked for a service appointment today and was informed that next available slot would be 24th April or later! And to cap it all when I said that my car would have covered an additional 1000 KM till then they had the temerity to mention that it is OK to have the car driven for an additional 700 KM above 15,000 KM but not more to ensure validity of warranty/free service coupon!! Anyone else face this problem?

What next - are they going to open a 'Tatkal' service? Or a booking system like the notorious passport appointment booking system??
If this is what it is going to be like this is going to sound the death knell of the already on its knees FIAT in India.

Man... servicing fiats in chennai looks like real pain.. Hope Fiat/RDC does something to reduce the sheer load of vehicles.

I pity people outside Chennai who own a FIAT.

There should have been a smooth transition from TASS to FASS. At least FIATS would have got their regular service from TASS till FASS were competent enough to handle these many number of vehicles.

the problem is not with RDC but with FIAT. They should have made sure that a city like Chennai got at least two big enough service center before moving out from TASS

Amazing, do they want us to keep are cars unused just because they don't have the bandwidth?

@naveen2cool: The problem is not just limited to Chennai. Bangalore folks also seem to facing similar problems.

Driver there is another private workshop in banglore who does a pretty decent job. Lot of our folks have taken their cars to him for EGR/Turbo related issues. His name is Harish of Pride Cars.

Pls check the EGR thread for more details about him.

re: FIAT Exclusive Service Center: RDC Fiat, Chennai

Guys it seems the concerned person has read through this thread and taken the feedback. The conversation was very long and a good one. They are making changes into their appointment systems and paid service slots and free service slots are being looked into. I was told that we will see changes in the future. They are also adding work force for customer service to ensure these are addressed. The feedback included about sales and was assured that whatever was promised will be delivered.

There is a get together they want to organize and take these feedback directly. I think it may happen next week.

    Let's hope for the best!

I don't see a real issue in this waiting for normal servicing. Why can't we plan better 2/3 weeks before itself to make a booking? I always had to book for my Getz service at HMP 1 month or earlier to get an appointment. This happened through out my 4 years of experience with them.

But, what is bothering me the most is the quality of service. Waiting doesn't bother me, but, if the quality of the service is compromised, RDC will fail miserably.

Rightly put. The service quality is important than giving you the next minute appointment and delivering the car back without resolving the issues.
