Sorry to say, but this is not a healthy trend for Fiat.

During the Palio days, we were extremely dependent on a single guy at Sundaram Motors, Chennai. We all know the events that happened to Fiat at that time. I sold my Palio due to the Pathetic Service from Fiat. I was relieved a lot when Fiat tied up with Tata for Sales and Distribution. Personally, I didn't see any bad with the TASSs as I have been saying this all along. And I also predicted things won't change much with the exclusive Fiat service if the majority of the staffs are recruited from the TASS. Very high expectation is what leading us to the dissatisfaction. I just hoped the Fiat exclusives continue the level of support I got from TAFE and improve on certain parameters.

re: FIAT Exclusive Service Center: RDC Fiat, Chennai

I have not had good responses from RDC sales at Nandanam either.

The person am referring to is a female who is imported from Concorde.

    Incident 1:

I call up the showroom and am put to this female. I ask for the availability of accessories and she draws a blank.

I say I need a particular accessory to be ordered and I could help with the part number if needed. She says not required and she would get back to me.
I am sick of following up for two weeks through phone, and I got a very lukewarm response like once in three times, we are waiting for a reply from Fiat, sir. I mean, what the heck. I decide enough is enough an drop and email to Pawan, Mangesh, copying RDC.

And voila, the part was ordered and shipped the same day.

    Incident 2:

I walk in to their place with my friend who is looking for a 1.2L petrol.

I was given the price list and I ask for the final price after offers and discount and again she draws a blank. She takes my number on her diary and promises to call back the same day. Days go by and no calls. No updates. I decided not to recommend RDC to my friend. Currently dealing for the same with another dealer.

With things heading this way, am afraid sales are going to dwindle. When they were at least with Tata, there was a chance of cross selling or people being attracted to Fiats. But now, am afraid it's even worse. Atleast with RDC.

Service is no great shakes either. Cars being damaged and stuff. PuntoManiac s punto was reversed into another punto as we were having a chat and there were people from RDC controlling both cars. Come on RDC, this is not the way to go!

But I am getting continuous follow up calls from Aravind and Raja from sales. They listen to me patiently and promptly call me back when I ask them to do so! May be I think it depends on whom we meet there. But it is duty of Fiat to monitor and do something for continuous improvement in service and sales.
Let us be positive that things will improve over the period.

On lighter note - Let us not forget that it is difficult to satisfy a Fiat customer as he is always demanding

Called the SA Abinashok, he says the regular service for my car is done and is ready. Asked him about a few complaints, then he says, he is with a customer and that he will call me back. I ask him when (I asked it the politest possible way) and he says half hour. Its been almost 4 hours now.

At times I wonder, if these guys deserve any politeness at all!!!! We all understand what it is to deliver under pressure, but why over promise and under deliver not just a few but at all times.

bharathj85, i think it will be easier for the chairman to access this thread on TFI, than us trying to draw his attention each time for all of us.

Trust me, those days are over, atleast for me. I would be the first person to be happy if they change for good. After receiving a few dents during service, and being given a lukewarm response for an accessory order and a sales enquiry, after multiple follow-ups, I know how frustrated I am. I know how many hurdles I had to tackle single handedly before and after getting the 90HP. I also know that RDC is much better than the previous TASSs. BUT, they are still NOT there! Good luck to them. And hell yeah, I am a tough customer!

I am thinking to buy a GP 90 HP in another couple of months. But the feedback which I am getting here puts me in worries and makes me rethink once again. There could be more potential customers would think the same - i am sure. This is not a good sign. Its been almost 2 months since the RDC announced officially it is operational. Almost all the people working out there are not new to this nature of work. They carries experience from the same industry and why did not they learnt how to handle the customers still?

FIAT is a dream car for me and it will be my first car. I had to wait all the way for 1 complete year (for the FIAT's direct sale) since last year when the announcement was made. I am at least looking for a decent ASS. But again everything seem to be getting worse.

I cant afford to live with the country's BEST hatchback with an average A.S.S. Because it is my nature and could not do anything with that...

I am left with no choice, but to wait and decide.

Please go for the car, these things should improve soon. Moreover, if you are not satisfied with one, you can always go to another service center. Do not keep this in your deciding criteria. If you are a real Fiat fan you would not. :)

Bad sales and ASS are there with any brand.

Bro pls carry on purchasing the GP 90bhp. There is another dealer opening soon in Chennai. They are Ramkay TVS group. If you are not satisfied with this dealer you can go for another dealer.

Moreover it is just been only 1 month since they have opened their service and still it will take couple of months to establish themself. It is always not easy for a new guy to start from Scratch to be fully operational 100% on the first day. It will take few months till they pick up the speed.

I have more confidence with Tensing than others at RDC.

Fiat service was at its worst, with TASS guys treating our cars the same way as their trucks. With exclusives sales/service outlets, things are only expected to imporve. Please go for the car. Looking back, you'll only be happy for your choice.

Got a call back from SA (after 14 hours, i guess he's following this thread too). He informed that other than consumables, only brake pads and horn have been changed.

Isn't the horn covered under warranty? My car is 22 months now and i've the extended warranty too.
