Today, I called again to know the position. The lady staffer who received my call recognised me immediately and informed that timing belt is not yet received and would inform me as soon as it is received. I received another call within few minutes confirming the same information. I have decided to get my Linea serviced [sixth, paid, 64 k km] at Ramkay FIAT after the availability of all the spares and consumables.

Just yesterday while i was going in OMR, decided to make a glance at Ramkay FIAT service centre to see the progress.Returned happy after seeing the infrastructure of the service station. The best thing that I like is a Board placed in the front, which mentions in brief about FIAT's history and it's position in the current market place. This board will help some of our mango people to realize that FIAT is not a small indian brand just like Hindustan motors (HM). Yes, it's a sad fact.Still most of the people in India believe that FIAT is a small brand based in India. I had to explain my father-in -law while purchasing my Punto, that FIAT is an Italian auto major. He thought until that time that FIAT is a small brand owned by TATA group...

My Punto's back seat is making a squeaking noise after it's being removed for stitching the seat covers.Planning to visit Ramkay service centre tomorrow or day after tomorrow to resolve the issue. Also need to check with them about the body shop and paint booth, as i need to remove a small dent in the roof and remove a scratch in front left door created by RDC.

Excuse for OT, my linea is just back from pondichery tass post accident repair job involving the right headlight and bumper and when we wanted to fill fuel, the fuel tank lid opening lever is missing nd I remember it was next to the boot lid opening lever, tass guys have broken it and how do I fill fuel even to go back to pondichery tass for another repair job again.terrible A.S.S and very poor plastic that even very important things come in hand and get broken, Owning a Fiat car has become a punishment, my car always had to return to the Tass every time it was there.Btw, I paid 20k for the repair job and the painting and polishing job is also incomplete that they have asked to bring back the car after 2 days

I have a doubt regarding the new battery that we have just bought from tass, invoice saysDIN 44 EXIDE (mine is a diesel linea) and I was charged 5,362 RS but when I had enquired with a private dealer I was quoted 8 k, how can be there such a huge difference in the price?, am I given the wrong battery?

    Bala,

If at all you havent figured out, there is a string on the side of the boot which you can pull to open the fuel lid

Bala, Punto has a red string within the boot which can be used to open the fuel lid. Am sure Linea too should have something similar. Do not leave those Manakular guys scott free.

Thanks a ton naveen and drvr, I shall go and check, I know what those Tass buys will tell tomorrow, when I ask them, you broke it yourself after you took delivery!, but isn't the lever next to the boot lid opener in the first place.
About the battery, is it the right one, I doubt even that, I beleive they have given Indica's battery, how can there be a price difference of 3k?

There is a string just behind the fuel lid inside the boot. It is there to open the fuel lid in case the opener inside the cabin, next to boot opener fails.

Regarding the battery, im not sure.If it is new, you would have got the warranty card. Dont take too much tension unless you face any problem. Just make sure the battery is of the same capacity.

My bad, there is no string in the boot to open the lid, there is a circular orifice but no string (is it because my linea is an active version), now what do I do to open the lid?.the lever is there in the boot, they have broken it and kept it in the boot,

The string should be there irrespective of model.
If you are not able to find it , take your car to near by SC and they will help you opening it.
If there is no fuel at all, just call FIAT RSA.

Now, I can figure it out as to how they broke the lever. I had asked them to keep all the replaced parts in the boot thinking that will charge for even the grill, which looked usable to me.while pulling the boot lever to keep the damaged parts, they pulled this lever which was next and broke it, kept that too in the boot and silently delivered the car, outrageous.
The all new bonnet (this is the 3rd after 2 accidents) is alreadyshowing the infamous bulge and the paint job is very shoddy as if it was done in a road side shopand they charged me 20 k for this.
