Ramesh, was very busy with office lately and hence could not get enough time for the e-mail. Doing it right now.

Amogh, thanks for the clarification, I am going to Ramkay on Monday with harry_1407 and we would take them to task with regards to the OTC sales of spares.

Yesterday I got my Linea 1.4 ( bought a used car recently ) serviced at TAFE under Tenzing care. They are now willing to do other brands which are out of warranty. They have most of the engine spares from the Vista line and they got a few spares for my car from the other FASS. So what are they hiding? OTC is being done. The FASS is also sourcing from TATA guys for engine spares. Ramkay is just trying to milk out the Fiat customers with some high labour.

I feel Ramkay is taking the wrong way. Let us see their action on Monday when Sai visits them.

I visited Ramkay yesterday for few minor issues. All those were fixed to my satisfaction. Overall good experience.

Any further update on this? Did you guys visit Ramkay today?

Ramesh, we visited them today and below are the updates.

    1) Reg OTC spares: CRM Suganya told that Ramkay management has decided not to provide spares to any Tom, Dick and Harry who asks for them, but only for "regular" Ramkay customers. Personally I feel this is pure BS because no one is going to buy Fiat spares just for the heck of it, obviously it is for the car, and they ain't giving it for free either. When I then questioned why I was denied the same that day, while I presumably fall under "Regular" customers category, she drew a blank and asked me to collect the spares now. But I am yet to.

Again this term "Regular" customer is a grey area and is bound to be misused.

    2) On the issues with our cars: Brake issue in my car was very evident, acknowledged by the works manager, Mr Samuel. Brakes were bled but still no change, brakes are spongy.

Brake booster would be changed and checked on Thursday.

Clutch issue could not be replicated much, but clutch is also going to be examined by bringing the GB down on Thursday.

Special thanks to Mr Samuel for staying with us through lunch time and sending us off.

Regarding Hari's car, suspension would be changed and checked this weekend after they get the rear strut spare. Extended warranty is applied for glow plug too.

Fiat has not put any restriction on selling the spares OTC. But, from your post above, it is a decision from the Ramkay Management which is ridiculous in my opinion. They are not selling the spares to any Tata, Maruti or Hyundai customers. Will they also reject to service the Fiat cars bought from other dealers?

All they want is labor charges now. That is the sole purpose of this decision by their management.

That they are openly saying that they cannot provide spares OTC means FIAT is also supporting them? FIAT can easily curb this, wish they step in and do it.

CRM Suganya says, they stock warehouse full of spares only anticipating that those would be fitted with them. Indirectly implying that they want labor charges. I was not happy with this response.

    One word : PATHETIC!

    Good point.

I won't jump to the conclusion so soon that "FIAT is supporting this". So let's not blame FIAT till we know the complete picture. FIAT can curb this only when the issue gets escalated to them. Which is what I suggest all of you should do collectively.
