    @DRIV3R, ha ha , 3 hours gone waste. Cant stop laughing. What those stupids dont understand is that we wouldnt waste our time to go all the way to their works to have a cup of coffee, which they serve sincerely. It is only because we feel something is not normal and feel uneasy to push the condition that we are basically trying to preempt severe damage. They also dont understand that we are so much connected to our car by our daily usage that we can sniff an error. To brush aside all our concerns by a newbie SA and a tester who comes by a bike or a bus is really painful and frustrating to say the least. What they are really interested is if the job involves a part change, then there is more money. It is simple economics. To stop a rattle or a squeak, they may have done it initially as introductory offers but they think they have grown up and that they have an unmatched facility. But unless the analytical brains mesh with the facility, it is not worth more than a zero. I may be a bit harsh here. But my harshness is borne out of my frustration and opinion formed from my couple of visits that wasted my time too. Imagine me going from Padi to Perungudi and given shoddy work and attitude in return.

    I am now quite comfortable with RDC, Ambattur. The facility is not huge but is quite spacious and the risk of dents is not there. I ve been getting my work done there and I am quite OK. DRIV3R, you should visit RDC Amb and try. No guarantees from my side for anything, but your nemesis Tensing is gone for good and you can try a new relationship !.:))Well, I missed to see you at the meet yesterday

    Abdul, it's not only the time that went waste. They spoilt my morning! I hate this system now.

    I clearly told the works manager that this guy need not be given that much of authority to write off customer's complaints just like that.

    Here is the turn of events that happened.

    SA Magesh did my job card. And as expected he said after he was done, sir TD. I said no. Do not waste my time and your time, I am coming for the 2nd time for the same issue. All you do is do a TD and write it off as normal. Do some real diagnosis. He says OK and car goes inside to a bay. Nothing done for more than half an hour. I was there by 9 AM, drove more than 15kms to their place alright.

    Then, without informing me or even requesting me to join, the car is taken out for a TD with this guy and the mechanic. I was standing along the car and still they did not bother to ask me to join. Fine, I waited. Then the car comes after 15 mins and is parked inside again. Again more than half an hour passes.

    I summon Magesh and ask what the hell is happening! He says some "discussions" are going on and he will get back to me in 5 mins.

    My legs were aching now and I went into the customer lounge for a breather. Then Magesh comes and calls me, I see that my car is out again and this moron guy comes. I ask 'Wot?'. He says TD. I got pissed off! I mean, they went for a TD just before and did not bother to call me then nor inform me that they are trying to diagnose the problem. I ask him the same and say why are you wasting my time and fuel with pointless TDs, what is going to change now with me in the TD? What is your diagnosis anyway?

    He says everything is normal and that is it.

    From when did 'whatever this guy says would stand binding and final' rule come in, I was puzzled. The SA Magesh too parroted the same lines to me. I said enough is enough, just give back my car, atleast fix the wheel arch liner properly which is not fixed properly, for which I paid 175 INR plus taxes as labor the last time I visited. Atleast that was fixed.

    I could not digest this and expressed my concerns to the front office. The works manager came in and took notes of my car's history and requested me to come in week after next and that he would look into my issues. Like he could decide when I should visit them! But I said OK because atleast he is trying to help.

    Had requested for the Linea sunglass holder and supporting parts form the spares counter but abandoned them too as I was so much frustrated with them. The spares guy Thamarai refused to sell air and oil filter to me. I took his consent for escalating to FIAT and also told him that FIAT has given the word that spares and consumables would be sold OTC.

    A stinker of an e-mail is waiting for FIAT and Ramkay.

    Please let me know when you visit again, so i shall also join you and see if i can experience the issue, first hand by taking test drive along with you in the interest of explaining those grease monkeys in a better way. I had a shoddy experience with ramkay as well... Front office is crap and has no clue what they do, they are not given any prior training. Looks like RAMKAY has a long way to go ... Customers are taken for a ride..

    Any further updates on this? I don't understand why there is no consistency on selling the spares OTC.

    Sai - even I am interested to know if spares are available OTC. It is very important to get this right. FIAT please do not get into this mode.

    I find it strange they are not selling spares OTC, I just went to Pandit the other day and got myself a set of spare brake bulbs since one had conked off, nobody said anything about no OTC sales for spares to me. Its kind of worrying to see a center like Ramkay which came up with so many good reviews go down the drain, lets hope they pull up their socks soon.

  8. RDC Fiat also rejected to give me the Cigratte Lighter Fuse OTC.

    I know Ramkay was giving the spares OTC. I am suspecting if there is any direction from Fiat not to sell the spares OTC. Does anyone know the reason given by Ramkay/RDC for not selling the spares OTC?

    There is no such direction from FIAT for sure, as confirmed by FIAT official. This practice is followed by dealers only.
    Please ask them in writting in case they do not provide spare OTC.

    As per the Director General of the Competition Commission of India (CCI), it is mandatory for all car manufactures to provide the spares OTC to their customer.
