    Just taken delivery of Sundhu's Linea from Ramkay.

    Works done -
    GC upgrade
    Elastic pads replaced (right and left)
    Brake disks replaced
    Brake pads replaced
    Timing kit (chain and tensioner)

    Total bill is 28k which includes parts, labor, and taxes.

    Ramesh, How does the car feel after GC upgrade?

    Stiffer?

    And are you happy with the overall quality of work? Magesh was mentioning some body work too on this car, how was the paint matching and quality?

    I didn't drive extensively after the upgrade. But the initial feel is that it is stiffer than the stock. We have a plan to drive 500+ kms before the leh expedition. I will report in detail after the drive.

    Yes, we did do the body work as well. We went with the insurance route for this. The bill was close to 9k. Front left wheel arch and the door was painted completely. Color match was perfect but we identified a very minor dent at the front door. Ramkay offered to rework on that. But we told that we will decide on that in a week.

    This is a proud FIAT owner writing with a sense of happiness and elation in not only owning a vehicle which has had its share of negative feedback in terms of service from all over the country but having experienced exemplary service. I would like to table my appreciation for the great service I received on Friday 9[SUP]th[/SUP] August 2013.
    I was driving with my family to Madurai from Chennai, and at about 10.00 am I heard a noise emanating from under the hood, it was similar to rubber tyres being shred and the flapping noise coming from that. I checked and found that one of the rubber belts had started ripping and was apprehensive whether I could proceed further. So called up Mr. John, my Service Advisor at Ramkay Fiat and appraised him of my situation. He said not to go any further and he will call me back. Initially we thought we could tow the vehicle back to Chennai and the Workshop. And so I sent back my family in a Taxi back to Chennai, while I waited with the vehicle on the highway. I then got information from Ramkay Fiat that they are sending me mechanic with spares. And I was absolutely delighted that a dealership is going to that extent of sending trained mechanics to service a broken down vehicle in the middle of nowhere (Melmaruvathur) and they came with more than enough spares and replaced the belt and the car was back good as new. And was able to proceed on my journey to Madurai after picking up my family once again.
    Now that I have returned to Chennai, I thought I must take this opportunity to thank the Team at Ramkay Fiat who strive for customer delight and I will definitely make this known to my circle of Fiat owners about the wonderful experience which Ramkay gives.
    I would like to place on record my thanks to Mr. John the Service Advisor, Mr Manikantan and Mr Mogan who were the mechanics who came to my rescue on 9[SUP]th[/SUP] August at Melmaruvathur and also the Workshop Manager/ Team leader who saw it fit to send the mechanics to an offsite location. Also if it hadn’t been for their CRM Ms. Sukanya who had introduced me to Ramkay Fiat, I wouldn’t have had this wonderful experience.

    No. If you call RSA, and based on the issues, the Customer Care team will either assign a nearby mechanic (out of FASS network) or connect with the FASS itself to fix.

    RSA is always based on tie-ups. Need not necessarily be FASS. When my car was vandalised, tried RSA middle of the night, response from call centre was good but none turned up with an air pump. All were just mechanics from independent workshops. :)

    In this particular incident, Ramkay has gone out of the way and helped instead of washing their hands off, and this is applaudable effort.

    Yes, the place where the car was stranded and the place where Ramkay is situated is like almost 100 kms away. I totally appreciate them for their effort :)

    I was just thinking about the time they would have took to reach the car. I know that RSA is tie up with other providers like MY TVS. If an RSA is nearby and if they are able to fix the issue then and there, why to waste time? Just a thought.


    In this case Ramkay has gone above good service to unbelievably good service :)
