    Hi guys
Had been to R S Motors (Kandivali-Mumbai) and couldn't have been more satisfied with the overall experience. ::T Hence Sharing.....

    - Firstly, it's not a flashy service station but things are just fine.

    - Staff welcome you with a pleasant smile & warmth. Best is they use the magical words :
" You can freely go stand near your car to see what work is being done !! It's Your CAR !!."

    - Cost and every detail is explained well with documents & also they understand you & Your queries first.
Any new work arising at the time of inspection was highlighted & they only suggest the best Cost-Effective Measure !!

    - No time-waste!! I have never seen people manage their lunch time for work !! i think it was a precise 1/2hr-45Min break and back to work. wow!!

    - Cleaning is OUT-OF-THE-WORLD .... I don't know if I was lucky ??!! or that man was a true worker ....he was passionately cleaning my car inside-outside-upside-downside-mats-dashboard-tyre-engine compartment...everything as if it were his own car. To top this he also got another fellow to wax the car and apply protective coat on dash and all over. Who would expect this from a Cleaner???!! Cheers Man !!

    - BTW I was soo happy that I even tried to tip him & he politely refused with a smile .... and kept on with his work !! top-job chief !! ::T

    - End result : It fell into my Budget whereas I was told Approx Rs.11000/- at other service-points for paid 45k service (God Knows How!!)
& here it was estimated & asserted at Rs. 8k (NO Wheel Balc & Alignment though since I keep doing so outside regularly !!)

    - Quodos to Mr. Rajendran Menon & his team !! (Guess he is the In-charge,Very Humble & too good. I also saw him take some workers case when he was being slightly Negligent! Wow !!) & Thanks Mr, Kailash .V who was my Adviser !! for this experience.

    - PSST. Guys I managed to Click a PIC of the Cost-Chart of the Paid-Services at Various Intervals. (Pic Attached below)
I hope this would help a lot of us to know how much cost to expect for service at Official FIAT ASS !!
BTW, Labour is really less as compared to others !! like like !! I would surely want to go and do things at ASS !! considering the affordability factor !

    - I was also handed a sheet that had all the important numbers that could come handy In-Case of emergency. This is a good gesture !!
    (Pic Attached)

Note to FIAT - you need such a Team Every where !! I'M proud to own a FIAT Now....even more than before !! Cheers !!

It is important to note here that the man behind these operations is Mr. Mohan Deshmukh a Senior ex-Fiat person, who has the ability to keep his cool and solve problems of the most demanding customer.

Another person who has not been mentioned about at RS Motors is Michael (probably a nickname), who is an expert with some very unique skills related to all Fiat electrical issues. The star of all things mechanical is Dhananjay; probably the most toiling of the lot, day after day solving the most intricate engine related issues. Their body works (paint job) is also second to none. They are proud about the materials they use which show in the final outcome, like Sikkens' chemistry.

Haha I tried the spare-parts cost-sheet here and at many places but sadly no luck. Instead I was handed a good 10 page accessory chart with official accessories......
But one thing i learnt is that Counter-Sale is now officially allowed..I was so happy to know that!

And yes Michael....i forgot to mention him since i had no interaction with him...but in the first place I was recommended and connected to him only to get an appointment by Ashok-tech supervisor from Fortune....and appointment was instant ! So ya thanks Michael...i also saw him sweat it out there with some heavy duty machines..so ya he sure seems good too!

Bala - I saw you were enquiring about clutch and timing chain cost elsewhere, Here you go.

Clutch Plate kit for Fiat Punto and Linea with 1.3 L multijet diesel engines.

Timing Chain Kit for 1.3 Multijet Diesel engines in Fiat Grande Punto, Palio Stile & Linea

For timing chain, one of the gears is not changed normally, I think the driven gear and it should cost around 7K Including labour.

Clutch Kit - 5400 for the parts, < 2000 for labour.

99 RPM is not selling parts right now but you can search for "Clutch kit Linea 99rpm" on google or other similar parts and get results for products that were on sale on 99RPM previously.

Hope that clarifies. Definitely does not cost 25K so don't panic. It is always good to explore the threads on this forum, there is lots of information regarding pricing and technical stuff. Having all that information in your mind saves lots of heartache when you are at the SC. I understand that not everyone would keep interest in all the technical stuff and are not expected to either but some basic stuff will definitely be helpful for a peaceful ownership.

As for your clutch experience, sorry about that - shit happens. But there is no hard and fast rule that the clutch has reached end of life at 60K kms, My clutch is running fine at 80K kms, i recently saw a few problems with it but those were sorted out with some clutch bleeding work done. Some others are running on stock clutch at 100K kms.

Yes simpleson, I did and he sent a mechanic home today who changed the clutch slave cylinder at home, I paid Rs.3530 for the same, though the car runs well am not taking chances and sending the car to pondicherry FIAT A.S.S. tomorrow to change the clutch assembly kit and timing chain for which am quoted Rs,25 k which I thought was too much.
Thanks a lot vjvl for the link, it helps.
Mangesh Kodalkar replied within minutes to mail and sent spares on priority basis in 3 days where as the earlier promised time for spares was 2 weeks, a good guy amongst a lot of undertrained people.

People, I actually did the wrong thing in paying for the CSC, my car belongs to the initial batch with faulty Csc which was changed for all cars free of cost except mine, inspite of me asking them 5 years back and now my car broke down.
I paid for Fiat's folly of manufacturing faulty CSC, yes, I did speak to Pondicherry FASS about this, they feigned ignorance.

You are allowed to ask for a cost breakup. Do ask them the spare price first.
