Got my car back from MM for the mirror fixing/painting and steering dak dak sound.
Steering issue fixed - some issue with the shock mounting for which they replaced an elastic pad which costs 2500/- !! (under warranty)
Mirror and cap fixed perfectly. The painting I should say is just hopeless, it looks more Cherry Red and not Exotic read and not well polished either!! :A . Even the road-side paint-shops here does the color matching better, even for metallic paints. I called up MM and lodged a complaint on Saturday. Today they called me back and wanted the car to sort out the color difference. I wanted the car back and asked them if they can take off the mirrir cap and paint it and fix it in the evening when I was free from office. They want the car !!. Dont these guys have color codes which can be used to mix the paint and get the correct match?? :firey
Delayed update, They repainted the mirror cover and one thing I noticed is they forgot to polish when they delivered the car initially :A. I got the cap in almost the same rough finish on the second and a man came running with something and started rubbing it, Magic ! the color matched now :firey
Guys I am avoiding Kulathunkal and giving my Punto for service to MM this week. MM is still recommended over Kulathunkal by all of you right? I need someone to give or at least pretend some personal attention to me and the car. And don't want to visit a service center which is operating beyond its peak capacity..!
All things being the same, KM might have a better quality of work, however as they are terribly overloaded, I feel MM output is better than KM. MM Service Advisors currently have the time and patience to listen to you.
My only concern is regarding the oil they use, just make sure whether they use Selenia or any good synthetics. As I mentioned earlier a mechanic in MM told me that synthetics is absolutely not necessary and normal Castrols will do :confused . Definitely better attention can be expected. My experience has been mixed so far, they we able to sort out my steering "dak dak" sound, means they have the skill to identify and fix an issue, while they messed up with the painting.
Pran & Roy: which oil they used in your car? I think synthetic oil is the only recommended type.. Don't know how riskier it is to use mineral oil.
I believe they used Selenia
