    During the feedback for the 1st service, I had mentioned that i was not happy with the cleaning - some hand stains, some areas not cleaned etc. Yesterday, got a 'regret' letter from Kulathunkal Motors and a free cleaning coupon :)

    Hi i am new here. I have been a Kuluthunkal customer for over four years. first the Tata Indica GLX and now my Punto. So far my car has clocked over 16000 km, and second service is over. Fiat Selenia oils are now not available, Fiat changed to Mobil 1. Washing quality and other things are pretty good at KM. The only thing they suffer from is parts delay of Fiat cars, because they are not getting them from Pune. And KM are now short on Service advisors. Last service bill for me was 9200. this included Mobil 1 oil, diesel filter, air filter, pollen filter and brake pads.I think it s a price worth to pay for a European hot hatch. If you want your bill to be low go buy a Maruti ::V .

    Probably your high bill is because of the brake pads and the mobil 1. But my question is why change Brake pads at 16000 km. Did you check the wear and didnt yu question them ?
    Is the brake pad change advised at 2nd service. There are no saints in business. It will be better to be alert.

    @Roy J

    Bills are high because of Mobil 1 oil and the brake pads. Make sure that you have synthetic oil in your engine because these oils do cost more.

    @Jumu

    You are right the brake pads alone cost around 3000 or more i think. I changed the brake pads because they were worn out completely, The car done around 12000 km on long drives that includes trips to Chennai(up and down 2000km), to my native place Idukki, mostly hilly areas(up and down 500km) and my office stints from my house to Sreekaryam around 20 km per day for 4 months. I think these all and my driving style have worn out the pads. ::T And service guys are not always saint's. ::V.

    Even if you had done highway driving for about 12000 kms,its no reason for your brake pads to wear out. You should have protested for the wear rate and claimed warranty as it could have been a product defect. The brake pads wear out more in city use as it is used more and on the highway the kms happen more and the brake usage is much less. You can still lodge a protest I feel

    @jumu

    In highway driving like you said we don t use that much brake. But when we do brake it s from above 100km/hr. And about the protest i think in my personal opinion when a part wears out before the predicted time period, it s not always defuctive product. Punto and linea customers are complaining about brake dust accumulating when i enquired about this to Fiat the senior manager who happens to be a close friend of mine told me, most of the parts are coming from Italy itself and under their road tests and surveys these kind of wear and tear are normal. In India customers want tyres that last for 35000, brake pads till 30000, these are not possiable for these cars in our condition(an example Punto and Linea low ground clearence pukka European norms are met when comes to our roads potholes humps,the cars get beaten severly) Other European cars such as Skoda laura, octavia, to an extent Mercedes all of these brake pads ,low ground clearence problems are there. I think we all the new gen Fiat owners are blessed to have Punto and Linea for such a low price comparing that some of the features these cars offer are only available in above 10lakh cars, and for the simply amazing handling and elegance. :up

    I gave my car to MM with 2 points to be addressed.
    1. Fixing ORVM mirror and cover. It is avaialble in stock !! :dancing . Through KM I made lots of fuss contacting Fiat and they promptly send the part on the day of my request and I was tracking the bluedart courier till it was delivered to KM on 3rd evening. Monday morning on calling them they said it has not arrived and I argued that it is delivered !. Then after sometime the SA called me and said that the part "might" have been delivered to their Kuravankonam branch :firey and said he will contact me once he recieve the courier. Till today no info and I lost my patience since I am driving without an ORVM which I feel very insecure. So no other option but try at MM .
    2. "Dak dak" sound from steering.

    Experince at MM:
    - Not an inviting appraoch road. They are sorting out some legal case with the direct appraoch from main road.
    - Very much inviting service centre premisis (not crowded), receptionist and SA.
    - SA noted down my points, called the parts counter and made sure all parts are avaiable.
    - SA was working with Force services before joining MM
    - SA said he has attending training at Manipal motors, Bangalore :confused
    - Promised free home delivery of my car tommorow afternoon after painting the mirror cover :clap
    - Painting alone was estimated at 400/- and 500/- for the mirror and cover.
    - Called up a mechanic to drop me back at my office when their 2 drivers were not available .
    - The mechanic claims to have attended Fiat training from Pune and 7 from MM have attended the training .Again :confused .
    - They use normal Tata recommended Castrol oil for an oil change and synthetic oil is absolutely not neccesary :A
    - 5 bays exclusively for Fiat of which 2 has lift. So my math says 7 Fiat trainied people to look after 5 cars at a time. more :confused
    - The person is still not used to the European lever setup, he washed the windscreen while overtaking and switched on the wiper for a right turn :A

    So moral of the story : Mixed reactions with lots and lots of :confused
