    If that is the case in each car serviced, this charges for consumables should be standard charge across all ASCs. But they are not.

    Secondly, are these Tata-approved charges? I don't think so.

    Thirdly, eventhough these are not standard Tata-approved charges, assuming that these charges are used for better service than others then will KHT give this explanation to savinvas in writing? Rs. 250 is not important and he has already paid. But let KHT makes it stance clear. Forget giving it in writing, after several attempts - first with SA and then with owner adit hmself, they have not given clear cut details to savinvas. Let KHT state above details towards Rs. 250/- consumables. In all probabilities, it won't do it :) and we know why.

    These all are covered in the basic 3-4 questions we asked for which we are awaiting response from KHT.

    I have a can of WEURTH Rust off spray and it costs 250 INR only for 400 ML, IIRC.

    All these are ok, but I do not expect these issues on a car going for it's first or second service. Also, this holds good only when the issue is reported by the customer, right?

    And shouldn't these costs be covered by the manufacturer, who in this case, is FIAT? Because the above quoted scenarios are likely to be called 'defects'.

    I will give you another classic case. All cars coming in for service should have their driver seats covered with a cover, but how many of the A.S.S follow that? In Chennai, TAFE does that, VST does NOT.

    Say a Linea customer with a beige driver's seat takes delivery after service at VST. The guy notices soiled seats (Grease marks) and shows his displeasure. The SA would bring in a guy with 3M interior cleaning foam and get those stains cleaned. Now, tell me if the customer is to be charged for this "consumable'?

    And if you see, few service centres like Oberoi, itemize the consumables, (Weurth Electrical contact cleaner for example) and bill the customer. The customer can question the SA on which part the product was used and he would be more than happy to pay the charge. Oberoi does not have any blanket 250 INR charges on their bills.

    I am sorry to say that you are wrong, again. The MRP itself is 85INR. And I bet that you guys should be buying it for much less. Please don't propogate wrong info on a forum like this. I would post pictures of both the Weurth products (Rust off and Windscreen concentrate) tonight.

    DISCLAIMER: The above post is merely to bring some reality to the costs mentioned, I do not have anything against KHT or Adit or Jay. Infact, I drove to Bangalore to get my car serviced from them. I also liked the way Adit responded whenever I contacted him through e-mail.

    I think the consumable charge is decided on the number of cars a service.center.can handle right.....

    Fiat will pay only for parts, I don't think they will pay for any consumambles used to fix the minor issue.

    What is the relevence here? This is, as you say, a classic case, and for SCs mistake why owner should be charged? I am not sure what you are refering to.

    Depends which washer is put, I have bought one from Coocorde (some pinkish color, from Sonax), and it has MRP 100, costed ~85 on bill. I don't think it was mentioned that it was from Wruth.
    First get the details before telling somebody not to propogate wrong info.

    Yes, this is the best way to charge anything.

    Its not an convincing answer.:)

    I know the details, sir. Go figure, TATA FIAT A.S.S use Weurth products only. The pinkish color one also describes Weurth which all TASS use.

    Some mention the brand on the bill and some do not.

    My question in one of earlier posts was which antirust spray are they using? Still no answer received. As far as I am aware of, I haven't seen an antirust spray available in Bangalore for 900 bucks.

    Will get hold of the antirust sprays price list (that too as bought by an individual, when the quantity is here, the purchasing power comes into picture) and post it here for the benefit of everybody.

    Prerana Kudlu gate uses 3M products. So I dont think its a mandate that the service center has to tie up with only service provider. By the way prices that these guys get is far far lesser than what the MRP is. Why I say this, I know a couple of distributors who provide supplies to these service centers. So simply comparing the MRP to charged prices does not help. Though the person has right to charge anything within the MRP :evil:

    The thread is going no where without clear cut answers from the person who takes care of KHT. We members are writing posts on posts with a few taking stands on either the KHT and query posters side.

    TAFE - Chennai have recently started charging for the consumables as well and it's about the same value. I did see that part of a recent second service bill, although my earlier free services didn't have any.

    All said and done I'm okay with them charging 250 provided the service is better than other places.

    Edit - To all questions questioning all sorts of thing - This is part of business and they are here to make profit. I know that we need to be transparent and bring everything on to the stage, but looking at last couple of pages this doesn't seem to be ending at all. Let's put a logical end to this and start prepping for the Factory meet!

    Guys, again we are getting distracted....

    Why do WE assume what could be KHT response and become it's mouthpiece? Let it come from Horse's mouth i.e. KHT. Only KHT can make it's stance clear. All other items said are mere speculations and assumptions that this all could be the reasons for this charge etc etc.

    The bottomline and the fact is that after several attempts savinvas has still not got answer from KHT.

    He was suggested repeatedly & also questioned here as to why not asking it to KHT again and again. He came and made it clear that he has asked KHT twice (in addition to the questions forum has asked in response to adit response). He was also questioned as to why the guy who has asked the question is not appearing in discussion and all others are asking questions :). He came back to forum and clarified that he is very much involved and made attempts to get answer but did not get it inspite of best of his efforts and without using harsh words :) .

    So, clearly onus is on KHT to make it's stance clear by giving clearcut answers.

    Let KHT admit above by responding and make it's stance clear by below basic queries.

    even im a customer like you guys...... but only difference is that im convinced for that 250 rs now coz i know whats happenenig with that 250......
