    Yes, I understand that Fiat never recommended EGR cleaning. But, I went for it for 2 reasons:
    1. Yes, I had black smoke when I revved beyond 1800-2000rpm.
    2. When I asked the SA, he too said, "Yes sir, you should get it done . . . ". However, since I insisted during payment, they did not charge me for EGR! :) :confused:

    Do you think EGR may be the culprit here?

  2. I doubt EGR cleaning will increase the engine noise.i have seen quitebfew cars where EGR is cleaned and owners reporting quiter and smoother engine response.

    I concur Sat. The engine is smooth though the pickup has dropped, and the noise has increased little bit!!
    I have seen the EGR cleaning thread of yours and noticed that the engine noise should ideally reduce after EGR cleaning.
    I am confused!!! Any suggestions?

    do you see heavy black smoke while revving? if yes then it could possibly be due to a turbo hose cut. ask them to check thoroughly. i doubt they have checked it within 15 mins

    I have not checked the black smoke after servicing. I will check with the SA folks on the turbo hose. Thanks for this info.

    read your comments and experience. When u take it back for another checkup and if its not yet sorted lemme know. Will try and take up the issue with Fiat technical team and explore other options of sorting out the issues faced by you.

    Incident 1:
    Last week my car completed 75K service @ KHT. As FOG lamp was blown out, they replaced the same during service & afterwards I noticed that FOG light beam throw is not proper & was yellowish. Very next day, I asked SA to re-check the bulb, but reply was 'It's FIAT provided bulb, there wont be any thing wrong with the bulb'.

    During my late-night Highway trip on last Friday, I felt that FOG lamp is almost useless & thought of checking it myself next day. Found that they replaced with 100W bulb instead of 55W. Today I went to KHT to check why they replaced with 100W instead of 55W. Again I got same reply that It's FIAT provided spare, thay can not do anything & nobody was ready to open the FOG lamp & check it. After argument, SA directed me to service supervisor, where they started discussing about which is the correct wattage for FOG lamp.

    Finally after escalating & showing the manual [page 120] to Shivram Nayak, issue was resolved. It's really surprising that a well established service center like KHT nobody aware of correct wattage for FOG lamp & also they were not ready to accept it until unless you show the manual to them.

    Incident 2:
    Meanwhile I thought of buying right side rear view mirror, went to spares section of KHT & asked for it. Along with the rear view mirror bill they charged me Rs-10 for quick fix. When I asked why is it so? The reply was 'While fixing mirror we need to use quick fix for additional strength'. As bill was already made & they can not revert-back I accepted it. But when they handed over the items, they gave me RS-5 quick fix where bill made is RS-10 for the same, again reason given was 'this is how they will charge for it'. As I didn't had enough time, I escalated the instance to Shivram Nayak & I walked off.

    Overall experience this time @ KHT is very bad.

    Charging above mrp is against law...this they have charged 100% more than mrp..u can take legal action as u have bill too. . But I don't suggest that..bring this error to their kind notice they will definitely sort it out. They cannot say ` This is How They Charge`

    That's tragedy.
    Are we supposed to argue and prove that they are wrong by showing the owner's manual? Very bad situation indeed!
