    What I inferred from his post is that, he requested to change the wing mirror and some paint job for which it was billed as Consumables for him. His take is that if we have reported something and they might have charged for that under the item 'Consumables'.

    Actually if you read all posts, we are saying one thing, this "CONSUMABLES" charge is not clear enough.
    Now only one solution I can think of to go to service center and demand clarification.

    Now ideally the debate started because before there could have been any clarification, discussion diverted (yes I am one of them).
    The posts after savinash asked about charges and post adit made, all made it clear this is not going to be a decent discussion. And none of us, including adit, made posts to make relationship better.

    You are right, and so was some of mine post when I say that others also charges this and need clarification. This never meant that I agree/justify what KHT charged, but some might have felt I am defending KHT.

    It seems, to me, we all hold on savinash's query, or till savinash gets some answers (if he wants to) from KHT.

    And one more point - Lets not discuss any topic apart from KHT here, ramesh's thread is better to have generic discussion on extra/unclear charges SCs demand - http://www.teamfiat.co.in/pre-service-query/5640-free-service-coverage-other-service-costs.html

    In that case, if the customer is happy with the explanation given then I find no reason to complain. I am livid when an explanation is not given and the cost is withdrawn.

    Please refer to this post here. I was charged under various categories of emery paper, anti-rust spray, other charges (Silicon sealant used to fix the leakage) bucks to fix the leakage. They did not have a proper charge code for this. Also blasted the accessories guy who was responsible for the mess. I did not hold back when passing the feedback to the general manager sales and service, and escalated the same on the feedback call too.

    I showed my displeasure about the windshield washer fluid charges. But it was my fault too that I did not bother to check the fluids level when giving it for service, so I could not contest this charge.

    In his case, if he did not get a clear cut answer, he has every right to show his displeasure either on the forum or to the people concerned.

    Actually, this was attempted but failed. And was attempted by none other than TFIan savinvas. One has to understand the entire flow in one go, then it becomes clear. Have a look at his following post :

    He was not aware whether the charge is “usual” i.e. standard or not. He, obviously paid and asked the forum. And we bombarded him with so much suggestions in addition to the posts from adit :( that I’m sure he is either feeling shy or feeling scared to report anything (Some have even said it’s irony to question KHT even after those posts from adit). But the poor guy is very much involved in this discussion. Check Post # 352, he has shown his involvement by clicking “like” button. Ironically, he is alone there. It’s at such times that it becomes necessary to ask ASC the professional & basic questions on behalf of a member for understanding & there is no reason that ASC should hesitate in sharing it’s side. Unfortunately, that’s not happening.

    Please note that we do not have anything against adit or KHT. It’s just that it should make its stance clear. This will help others to decide – some may still decide to pay Rs. 250/- each time whereas some may not be ready to pay it. It then becomes an informed decision. The forum has welcomed adit eventhough being a dealer. He has even posted some promotional campaigns example below. Therefore, there is no reason why he should feel hesitated in reverting to professional queries/ response to his posts.


    Customer had tried but did not get an explanation & clear cut answer as mentioned above.

    Now, let’s see what have we asked. Hamne itna kya puchh liya dekhe to jara. Is it a rocket science or very difficult IAS exam like questions? :)

    Bang on! Its a win-win situation for both. In fact am an example for this. Though I havent purchased my car from KHT, I have been associated with them for all subsequent process. Be it the first service or buying extended warranty etc. This is due to the fact that KHT is accountable and we can expect an ammicable resolution of matters. Infact even now if any body asks about buying a FIAT, I would suggest KHT as preferred dealer and then Aadya etc. So definitely this forum has yielded mutual benefits to customers and KHT as well. Appreciate the fact that Adit from KHT has been proactive and would be great if the same is continued in future as well.....

    I am not sure what you meant by "bombarded him with so much suggestions", I see no other suggestion than get it clarified because its not clear. Once Savinash asked, all suggested he must clarify, did he clarify from SCs?
    And I don't know why savinash should feel shy or scared, he has every right to go there get it reveresed if the answer is not clear and make sure it doesn't repeat.

    Now asking same questions or quoting same post multiple time, I am not sure how we are helping him.

    And apart from adit, we have members from Aadya and Prerana as well in forum.

    Yes I agree that he must clarify, but we must also remember that he did accept the wrong doing of this SAs and helped other members to resolve the issue and he was most of the time, so called professional in his post.
    I am just quoting 2 posts of his, there are many -

    Have we thought why he was not so decent in the current reply? Because he could reply to savinash's issue/question, there were harsh word used (one may justify that), and reply was equally bad from adit.

    I think Adit is travelling. In an earlier post he had mentioned that he is travelling starting 4th or so and will be back on 10th. Let's wait till he is back. I am sure he will come back and respond to the issues we have raised.

    There is no doubt that both we members and KHT have benefitted from Adit's presence on this forum. A lot of us have booked Puntos and Lineas after interacting with Adit through this forum. Posts in the dealership thread are the proofs. Adit is buiding business and we are using Adit's presence to get issues resolved or get them escalated so that issues get noticed. And Adit has been proactive in addressing issues, at least from my experience. So it is a mutually beneficial relationship. Am mentioning all these only to say that we members have nothing against KHT. It is just that one member has raised concerns about the items mentioned in the service bill.

    I'll recite how it happened...

    - savinvas asked whether he has been charged alright or more.
    - Few members suggested he was charged more he should demand explanation. Then there was discussion on harsh words being used by few members during that discussion due to which the discussion paused.
    - Meanwhile savinvas mentioned that he already asked SA on explanation & did not get clear answer.
    - The discussion restarted. Now some suggested that he should seek clarification (which he already tried but did not get it) and also saying that even other TASCs are charging such charges under several cost heads. getting confusing a bit. Then some shared their experiences with KHT & some shared for other TASCs for different other charges. The charge of Rs. 250/- towards CONSUMABLES did not appear common anywhere except KHT (shared by other member) while windshield washer fluid appeared in some members' posts with varying degree of charges.


    Just to keep discussion on the point with Arjun-like focus :) so that it does not get distracted (which it usually gets in such cases)


    Nothing to take away from adit or KHT, but when one receives praises, one should also be ready to accept criticism.

    Secondly, in Customer Service, handling irritated customers is also one of the most important tools. And those who have handled customer service, would know how such customers behave but still needs to be managed.

    Agreed. Let's wait till we hear from KHT.

    Actually, I see no reason to discuss it further till / if we hear from KHT. It's not complicated. All we should know is its stance so that members are aware and take decisions accordingly. As mentioned some may want to pay Rs. 250/- for CONSUMABLES and still prefer to go there while some may not. Either way, it becomes an informed decision and members can advise or share with newbies coming for advise accordingly. There should not be any resistance amongst members in this but ironically there is, it seems.

    Anyways, now shall we give it a breather and wait till KHT comes back on the questions with it's stance :)

    Still I can't find what other suggestions were given to savinash, apart from getting clarification on those charges:).

    Appreciate your swift response. Infact I'm the person who paid this bill. I had raised concerns regarding all these to your SA Bharath when he showed me the bill. He did not take my concerns seriously and did not give me a convincing reply too. I did not want to fight with him and I think he is not the person who decides these invoice components, rather it would be KHT policy.

    it is a company policy and the industry practice.....how does a dealership make money 2 survive....we r in BUSINESS....not CHARITY.......it is legit and charges r collected for services rendered.......customers crib about discounts - given from my margin.....crib about service bills - who is supposed 2 bear tht cost ?? where and how am i 2 make money 2 run my business ?? how am i 2 earn to pay salaries, interest , rent ?? really think logically....... everything a dealership charges is LOOT , SCAM AND CON ??

    if the response by bharat was not satisfactory speak to the service manager, speak to the general manager on teh spot......

    I did not ask for any discounts and I sincerely does not have any issues in paying for any service I receive. I do not crib on them. When it comes to charges which are not explained, I think we have a right to ask. I did not mention about any LOOT,CONN or robbery. Its unpleasant to see Rs 250/- for 'some' consumables whereas the bill contains charges for even 'cotton waste' and 'super glue'.

    This is my first car and the first time I'm servicing it from KHT. I wanted the friends to know and comments from them. This might help someone going to do a third free service.

    Please note, I did not complain or crib about KHT, Just asked for comments and these came up. Just thought of sharing the comments with you.

    appreciate what you say but consumables of any kind, superglue and waste have to be charged since they have been used during the service of your car....
