  1. Vahan,

I would expect KHT to respond like #2 any other way amounts to unprofessional response.
OK, I’ll check the bill / details and get back. If any error has happened, rest assured that it’ll be taken care of as we believe in long term relationship & would like you to come back to us. If there was no error, I’ll explain you what are the charges for. Had you raised it and brought it to my or senior staff attention instead of SA, this inconvenience to you could have been avoided.

Here is the snap shot of my Punto 1.3 first service bill at KHT which includes an item saying Standard checks (Consumables) of 250 Rs. When enquired, I was given to understand that it was for general top up of fluids. As it is difficult to bill for the exact qty of fluids used, this is the avg & std rate across. But have to admit that overall service experience was good at KHT. Not sure it was due to the fact that I had kept Adit in the loop. The Service GM over there (Mr. Suresh) was very co-operative and attended to the details well. Here are further details -

One good thing is that they didn't charge for alignment. Few of the TASS charge for both alignment and balancing.

@ sun, Yes! Since I insisted for wheel balancing also to be done, they did clear that only balancing shall be charged as alignment is part of standard first free service.

I haven't seen any help from others either, what suggestion you have for these 2 members? At-least I asked to have it clarified.

And my repetition was because of your repetition on same line.

If any SC is putting windscreen washer fluid, whats wrong if they charge?
If they don't charge you or few more (I am one of them), means they have not put this to my car.
Does this mean I start questioning all those are charged are wrong, without knowing its been put or not, shouldn't I calrify before making allegations.

I never brought only one thread, I told to search there are many places where these are charged, may not be exactly Rs 250 though.
And I mentioned other threads because it was posted by you and others to show that only KHT is charging that.

Yes it is evident that 2nd response would have been much better.
You can give 2 extreme examples. And try to show that all response, except Point 2, is un-professional.

What adit response to savinvas's was
You have put it in better way. And thats what I said,
BTW, it might seems so, but I am not justifying KHT charges Rs. 250, without any explanation. I am also waiting to hear back.

    I see one comment -
Are you happy/satisfied with this answer?

Others have asked questions and demanded clarifications, some have even be audacious enough to ask point blankly. If you would like to see my response to the issues, pls go back few pages in this thread. I’ve asked few questions that demands an answer from KHT which is still awaited. And I’ve kept it repeating to keep the focus whenever there was any attempt to dilute the discussion and not just by saying that the other TASCs are also charging few other charges like this. And this was done without questioning - on what basis are we saying that charges are wrong (unquote - means charges could be right i.e. standard charges which are chargeable across)

Repetition started after repeated attempts of saying other TASCs are also charging. And for all such attempts to dilute this KHT-specific discussion, I’ll keep on repeating questions which need answers from KHT. See, there is no point of arguing about other TASCs also charging on this discussion on KHT. Others have charged? Ask them also, I had already stated it. But let’s not use that to dilute this discussion on KHT as KHT needs to revert with details what it charges.

My friend, nothing is wrong as long as SC has asked or informed the customer before putting it in. The bigger question is on Rs. 250/- towards CONSUMABLE blanket without details.

Yes. You can question SC if it has not asked you for doing something on chargeable basis but did it on its own and charged.

So, you still think these are premature allegations, don’t you?

    • If an ASC charges a customer something which is not a standard charge across ALL ASCs, a customer reserves right to demand the details. I would not call it an allegation.

    • If ASC does not ask the customer beforehand, does something on its own on chargeable basis, the customer reserves the right to demand the details. Again, I would not call it an allegation.

That particular entry of Rs. 250/- towards CONSUMABLES is the key. I think it did not mention any code no. else I would have actually liked to see if the same code/ item is charged by ALL TASCs as standard charges. Apparently, it does not seem to be a standard charge across all TASCs. Atleast, I have not come across it in various invoices or discussions posted in forum. If it is not standard charge across and if it is charged on adhoc basis just at the discretion of TASC, doesn’t it make it highly questionable?

Assuming there are average 30 cars serviced by ASC per day, Rs. 250/- means collection of Rs. 7,500/- daily and for 300 days in a year (excl holidays), it runs into 7500 * 300 = Rs. 22,50,000/-

adit’s responses were never edited and I posted it twice as it is. One can make out what it is.

If you still think that response as per point # 1 is not un-professional in customer service, I have nothing to say.

Then let’s stick to waiting with a focus without any dilution – like Arjun’s Bird’s eye focus. :)

Just one comment about why did not customer check the details before paying the bill:

Around 4.30 or so customer gets a call saying "Sir, your car is ready after service. Please come and take delivery." Customer goes to SC only to see that Car is still being washed. Or some other work is still in progress. After waiting for an hour or more, work is finally complete. And then the SA vanishes for bill preparation process and turns up after another half an hour.
By then, customer is fed up and wants to somehow pay the amount mentioned and take delivery of the car, not bothering to scrutinize and question each item in the bill. He goes home and later checks the bill in detail. Sometimes leaves him thoroughly confused on the items billed.

How many of us have taken delivery of the car in day light after a routine service? This applies to all SC at least in Bangalore.
Result: you dont get an opportunity to see the quality of work when taking delivery late in the evening.

^^ Both the customer and the SA are to blame here (note - nothing against you, I can definitely understand the circumstances). Still I always suggest and prefer to take time off to keep my vehicle in excellent condition.

The last time I got the Palio serviced at KHT (included clutch overhaul), I took a day off and sat at the service center to personally witness the work. How many of us can do it on a continued basis.

Like Vahanpujari mentioned time and again, its not money that dictates a trust worthy relationship, there is a lot more than money which builds a healthy relationship. Honesty, Work Ethics, Professionalism are a few to name.

its an irony that we talk about building relationships and simultaneously use words like loot, con and robbery!!

Yeah, agree its an irony in itself charging under consumables with no clear answer and yet the customer is not supposed to show his displeasure. What else would you call it other than Loot, Con and Robbery. May be a better sugar coated words are more suitable when somebody experiences these.

When the trust is broken in a relationship does one use the words like conning, back stabbing etc, etc. Hope you get the whole idea of raising voice against the charges with no clear cut explanation.

No wonder the services centers are having merry time simply because of our negligence.

Anyways, I am out of this discussion when a few are whole heartedly supporting something that was not rightly done.
