    My Punto's combination switch (The head-lamp switch) behaves like it has a loose contact. When the car jerks over a pot hole, the headlamp switches between high-beam and low-beam. Sometimes it goes off too. It does the same if somebody touches the switch. I purchased my punto from KHT, Bangalore. I showed them the problem and the service advisor Mr. Arun Dayal checked it and declared that it is a case for replacement under warranty. But the spare part is not available. First he asked me to come immediately because they have only one switch with them. I spend 2 hrs at the service center on a working day and he came back and said that the switch they have is for emontion pack but mine is emotion. Now it is more than three weeks and i contacted Arun Dayal at KHT 4 to 5 times but the reply was always the same, the spare part is not available yet. and they are trying to get one. I talked to Prerana as well as Concorde at Mysore road. Prerana too did not have stock of combination switch, but did not show any willingness to solve the issue. (May be i am expecting too much ?) Concord connected me to the parts department and they promised me to get it within one week which did not happen, and got extended to the next week. But Concorde atleast sounded very positive in response and showed some willingness to help. I am not happy the way KHT (from whom i purchased the car) is handling this issue which is very critical because i cannot reliably drive my car once it is dark. I did not get any respite till now. Let us wait and see. Between, my Punto has done 3000 Km and 4 months old.

    Sudish...this is scary...my car is from KHT and 6 months old...I had a bulb fuse problem within one weeks of purchase, but I drove to Concorde, Dairy circle to get it fixed...yes, they (concorde) sound to be more responsive...yet to deal with KHT on parts related issue but give a chance talking to the service manager - Devaiah (I'm going to talk to him this week and talk about this forum). When Manipal motors closed down, most of the gang moved onto KHT and they are less than a year now in selling/servicing FIAT cars...however, if they don't act effectively, am going to feel little jittery given the fact Concorde, Dairy circle is 2kms from my home and KHT some 30kms (both ways) :-(

    Sudhish, there is a standard process for parts procurement here in TFI. Get the TASC you are comfortable with (either concorde or KHT) to place an order for the part. Get the order number and contact Fiat (send an email) you can be assured of delivery within one week. Most of the time it is found that the service center delays the ordering of spare parts.

    Thanks Roy, I did not know that we can get the order number and parallely communicate with Fiat. I thought parts procurement is completely at the dealer's discretion and control. I should contact them and ask the order number. Let me see whether concorde will get me the spare part as promised by Tuesday, the 26th. I contacted KHT today. The SA empathises with me, talks good, but that doesn't deliver and i am not still convinced that they have taken my case seriously. Each time he contacts his store and says the part is not available with them!

    @arulvr: Yes it worries me too. Wow! is slowly giving way to Why?! Most of the service centers will do the routine services quite ok. Very few service centers will walk that extra mile to make a customer loyal to them by solving their issues. It could be the work culture at service center or zeal of an individual service advisor which is making that difference and obviously not the car-maker.

    I so completely agree with you regarding an individual making a difference. My experience is there is never been a first time resolution. Have to visit the SC more than 3 times to get even simple issues resolved.

    Also, Girish who is from B'lore and is a member of the forum had arranged a meet where KHT (??) was a major part of it. Write to him and see if he can put you in touch with the right folks at KHT to get this issue resolved. Also, like has been mentioned, you would need to write to Fiat with the part number.

    Sudhish, order number will help you in 2 ways -
    - Most likely dealers doesn't put orders on time and delay starts. With order number, you are assured that dealer has put the order to Fiat.
    - It will help you to follow-up with Fiat, in case delay is from there side.

    Most of the time we had seen that dealer doesn't put order itself. Otherwise, parts arrives quickly. Just ask KHT when they put the order and whats the order number. If its more than a week, shoot email to Fiat's spare parts division.

    One more note - KHT knows Teamfiat well, they were the sponsers of our last meet. Put sticker or make sure you inform them you are from TFI, thing should move fast.

    I called parts-department of Concord-mysore-road and came to know that they received the combination switch for headlamp. I went there, spoke to the service advisor Ranjeeth. Car was taken into the service bay, and came back in a few moments. Ranjeeth came back and said the combination switch they received is for emotion-pack. Not suitable for emotion as it includes connection to system related to airbag. Ha! now i am back to square one like when i found this problem in the begining of october. I explained Ranjeeth about my wait for about 50 days and it is difficult for me to drive the car at night. He asks one weeks time and promises to get the combination-switch for emotion as fast as possible. So i decided to wait one more week, and then if there is no respite, i will get the order number from concorde and write to fiat. Sometimes i feel that i should appologize myself for this kind of patience. Between, last time i contacted KHT, same cold reply - "That is not arrived."

    Called the parts department at KHT as i started this spare-part hunting with them. As the usual advisor Arun Dayal whom i used to speak is on leave, talked to one Mr. Ramanand. Asked for order number so that i can escalate with parts department of Fiat. He did not give me that, instead he promised me to call back in a few minutes after "checking". I appreciate that, he promptly called back. Said they should be able to get the spare-part around coming mid-week. Nice to hear that. Good if that really happens.

    Sudhish - That's a long wait, man. I don't know why but they always make this mistake of Part of Activa/ Dynamic arrived inastead of Emotion-Pack & vice versa. Have seen it umpteenth number of time.

    Don't wait further. Shoot a mail to Fiat, copy to GM of this TASC on 50-days wait & that you're still not getting Order No. from TASC & the least you expect from Fiat is to give you Order No. & timeline by when the part can arrive. That will put pressure on the system & things would move.
