    Hi Guys,

Can we get some inputs on the new Service Centre from Hyson Kochi.
Anybody with service experience. My Linea completed 29000km and will be up for service in next 1 months time.

Should i go to Hyson or stick with Concorde until sept 2013

here is my review on the service experience...
Finally got to test out Hyson's service center. Went there on the 23rd to check out this long pending noise that has been present from the left side of my car since my 45K service at Concorde Motors. Their parting gift I figure, those chaps there couldn't sort it out even after I took it back. They said my under-body got a knock, etc etc. That didn't get rid of the noise.
Brought it here, wham bham! Fixed it!
The link rod was loose and some strut mounting was also loose, what a shoddy job by Concorde and they couldn't tie up their loose ends even after I took it there. I liked the Hyson center, u feel welcome and the exclusivity is finally there! Met Mr Vineeth, the CRM a very nice guy. Left there a happy man and with a noise free GP for now.

@Binaiks this is def not the same wine in a diff bottle...they are atleast serious about trying to resolve your issues rather than take on more and more cars and do the sorta mass servicing we used to see by TATA. They closed booking until feb 5th. I went and ran my car through a bad bump recently ( read an irregularity on a bridge due to shoddy tarring and laying work) at night at around 60-70. It was a bad one and a tiny noise has crept in again. May take it in when the service frees up. The noise though comes only rarely. So not a service issue but something that i caused by my carelessness...:D

p.s concorde initially did a good job but then the usual practice crept in, and their servicing was lackluster...my dad had given his petra some time ago before we sold it for a service, they charged him 30k for a heck load of part replacements. Later on after he showed it to another local service center on another issue they said the car was running old parts and nothing was new as per the parts concorde claimed to have replaced...and this service center had one of the best mechanics who used to work at concorde. He told me later on what the scene is over there and its just a run of the mill work they carry out. I used to dread my scheduled services but now I think i can be at ease...cos atleast in this case even if they screw up *touch wood*...FIAT is directly responsible...but i foresee better times for us :)

I visited Hyson motors service centre on 27Feb to get my Palio 1.9D's fautly glow plug replaced. I was told that it would take few more weeks for them to get the spares for Palio. They don't seem to be completely ready yet as they were setting up wheel alignment equipment and paint booth is expected to be ready in another couple of weeks. However they may be able to do regular servicing for Linea & Punto. I got the faulty glow plug replaced at RF motors

Once things fall in place this issue of parts availability may be solved to some extent but not fully. Issues faced by Fiat Palio owners were raised to Mr. Enrico during his visit to inaugurate Fiat Exclusive Showroom in Bangalore. Ravi has summarized it well in the thread http://www.teamfiat.co.in/fiat-indi...ve-vecto-motors-inauguration-march-2nd-6.html. Look for post# 51,52, 79

Hope this will bring in some respite for the Palio owners

Had a recent visit to Hyson motors service centre to get the problem of difficulty in engaging the 5th gear resolved. This was resolved to my satisfaction, no parts replaced just the gear link mechanism including the gear shifter hub and links at the gearbox had to be realigned/ tightened & lubricated . However for fixing the digital clock, which had a missing screw, the art wooden insert made of plastic on the dashboard had to removed. Found this item was broken in 2 places but is still holding to the dashboard. I think this is one area the service centre (for that matter most of the service centre) needs to improve, handing the car with soft hands specifically interior parts. I mentioned it to the service advisor and asked him to advice the mechanic to handle such repairs carefully. I noticed most of the service staff at Hyson motors are from RF motors and think some are from Concorde as well. Which is a mixed news, good because they are experienced in servicing FIAT cars and not so good as they may be following the same legacy of service from Tata motors. Not that all service practices are inefficient but lack of attention to details, handling repairs with soft hands when essential etc. Now it seems like Hyson motors is fully prepared for servicing Lineas & Puntos, also the painting booth and wheel alignment facilities are ready. Looks like RF motors and Concorde motors are not taking an Fiat cars for service any more and I could see a rush of cars for serving at Hyson motors. Hyson motors has a fairely large service area having around 16-18 car service bays and around 6 hydraulic car lifts. The service bays and lifts are wide/ big enough for large SUVs, could be in future to service Fiat and/ or Chrysler SUVs which is a good thinking indeed.

Hey guys, I will be visiting the service center day after tomorrow. I have to install floor mats, mud flaps and scuff plates on my Punto. I'm also planning to get my handbrake checked as I feel its not strong enough to hold the car. I'm asked to meet Mr. Faris with whom I spoke today morning. He told me that there is no need for an appointment and that I can just go there on Saturday. Has anyone interacted with him? I would also like to get pointers on good staff whom I like to interact with.

    Accessory fitment

I did visit the service center last Saturday. I had gone a bit early and reached there by around 8:45am. Their working time starts from 9am. I met Mr. Prince who is the Service Manager there. I wanted to go inside their service area and click some pics, but he denied it. After some time, met Mr. Nijaz who was one of the Service Advisors there. He’s a friendly nice chap. He rang up Farris and found out that he was on leave and directed me to Mr. Ameer who was again a nice guy. Ameer was in charge of the accessories section I guess. Met their technician, Mr. Siyad who was very polite and asked me to wait in the lounge while he took my car inside. He fixed the mud flaps and floor mats. Next up was the illuminated scuff plates and I had to wait for some time to get them fixed. Actually their technician who was proficient in doing such works was on leave and Mr. Ameer took the initiative and requested him to come just for my work. I would recommend contacting Ameer for any accessory fitments. The fitting also took some time and I left the place only by 12:30pm. Overall, it was a pretty nice experience.

    A/C not working:
On my way back home, I noticed that the A/C was not working. The blower was working fine, but the cooling was not there. Reached home, tried to switch it on and it didn’t work. I took the car back to service center immediately and told this to Nijaz. Asked him to call back the technician who did the job as I suspected it might be some electrical connection problem that must have happened while fitting the scuff plates. There were no other symptoms and all other electricals worked fine. Ameer was out for lunch, so I was assigned to another SA who tried switching it on and off by changing the fan speed from 0 till 4, but the cooling wasn’t there. He noted down the diagnosis in a job card and told me to wait inside. Few minutes later, Ameer came and inspected the car. He pushed the blower fan speed button in and voila, the A/C turned on. He said the blower and A/C can be independently operated by pushing the fan speed button inside. Our car’s was pushed in when we took delivery and hence by simply changing the fan speed from 0, the A/C switched on. Hence, I was of the assumption that there was no way to operate the blower alone since there was no separate button to switch on A/C as found in most of the other cars. I was so relieved with the outcome and left home after thanking him. Till date, this issue hasn’t resurfaced. :D

I have booked for my Linea 30k service on 15th April. Will post the reviews from my side as well..

While booking i had enquired about the Windshield cost + fitment charges. The overall cost quoted by Hyson SA was a whopping 10k.. I have read earlier in our forum that the total cost for windshield replacement is around Rs 5.5 to 6.5 depending on dealer. After hearing the cost from Hyson, i had to check the same with Windshield solns, thammanam ( Earlier windshield experts - Cochin) and they quoted 5700 while vecto motors in Bangalore quoted approx 5.5( to be confirmed next week) and Windshield experts quoted 6400.

Now did the SA got the cost wrong? Will need to check with him on 15th.

How to reach Hyson FIAT Cochin - Service Centre.

From Palarivattom Bypass signal, take the road to Kakkanad. In about 0.6km, you will see Skyline Apartment Complex on the left (just before the new 2 way bridge at Chembumukku). On the right, just opposite to Skyline, you will see Fortune Motors (TATA motors service station) and a small road next to it. Take the right to that small road, and Hyson Service is about 30 meters in the right.

I update how to reach there, because I had trouble in finding it today. I checked with the security guy at their Sales office, but he could not help me as he was new guy there.. Finally, auto guys from Padivattom

Word of caution : Book your appointments before you visit Hyson Kochi FASS

My Punto now in Kochi was showing some issue with locking mechanism.. I took her to Hyson for a quick check up and was shocked to see the number of Fiat cars in there.

Word of caution to other Kochi members. For any complaints please book and go.. else you will be disappointed like many folks in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad faced with issues of SC overcrowding. Today at 10 AM when i visited Hyson, there wasn't and inch to move around and i had to park my car at the gate..I was thinking "Does kochi have so many Fiats?".. unbelievable. Then i came to know that they are parking cars after and before service at the SC itself because of some ongoing work in their yard. Also due to the load, they have reduced the number of Bookings per day..

I went in with a running complaint which was refused to be attended on first request.. They told be the same dialogue"Do you have appointment? IF not plz book and come: faced by our mates in other cities such as Chennai, Bangalore and Hyd ( Some time earlier). Upon insisting that it is a running complaint, the SA finally had a look at it and also got the mechanic to ascertain what could be the next step. Issue was the central locking/Autoclose mechanism not working while using the remote key and also during running. He said he has to open up the door pad which requires time and requested me to book for a service slot Which i agreed seeing the plight..The issue was not serious either as it was responding to manual locking. Booked on Saturday..

During my previous visits it was very short and didnt spend time in the SC. Hence i failed to notice the simple fact that there is no customer lounge... I was asked to be seated and there were only 8 chairs i.e 2 each for SA table.. How can a customer sit when another customer/SA is explaining issues/resolution . I felt really awkward here and preferred to stand the whole time ... I felt like i had visited a roadside workshop opened to attend running complaints and not a SC.... Hope they rectify this soon
