Probably, it varies from dealer to dealer. Here in Hyderabad with couple of dealers I have heard that they deduct 5k and have personally seen it on 2 different dealer reciepts.

Yes, I think it varies from dealer to dealer.

I had booked Ertiga and cancelled the booking after choosing Linea. The booklet mentioned a cancellation charge of Rs. 2.5k, but when the refunded the money, Pratham motors Bangalore only deducted Rs. 500/-. May be there is also a broad guideline from the manfacturer on the cancellation charges to the dealers?

I dont think manufacturer has any say in this..
The amount to be deducted varies from dealers to dealers.

What u have mentioned is pretty much correct...... the plant cannot just randomly manufacture cars and keep them. they also take into consideration the vehicle model movement and the lean order management system sent in by us dealers. you dont expect the car to be manufactured only when the order is placed na :D so in that case there has 2 b manufacturing everyday.

and again even if the vehicle is manufactured and kept in plant let you be assured that there is no defect in it......how many months old it has been standing does not make a difference in the quality or performance of the car since the cars are stocked properly in a professional manner. Your warranty etc starts only the day the dealer bills you the vehicle no matter what.

cancellation charges are usually part of the business coz if i dont have the vehicle in stock and i am procuring the vehicle only on the customer's order by paying xx lakhs and it gets cancelled what am i to do with the vehicle ? i am already paying interest on it to my banks till it gets sold to the next customer :) it has been kept a very nominal amount and yes as mention it depends dealer to dealer and manufacturer to manufacturer :)

VIN number can be checked as mentioned by Ravi also.

    anyother clarifications welcome :)

    Ok, i have few sir.

    1. Do you (dealers) sent constant customer issues as feedback and urge FIAT to take care of it in their future production line cars of same type (Linea or Punto)?
    2. At what rate FIAT manufactures its cars? I mean 10/day? or what? Because If very minimal a day, then their QA has issues as per some thread @ TFI and some internal core parts issues too.
    3. Design changes/concerns or suggestions input for their next new model rolling in?

    Thanks :)

    1) yes we have to compulsory give feedbacks from customers to plant and also report every complaint registered. All complaints are also registered in teh CRM which is accessible to the plant and other top management to ensure imporvement and redce complaints.
    2) its a production line that goes in a sequence but again technically am not too sure of how 2 answer this. I shall try and get an appropitate answer for you.
    3) design changes etc for next model's rolling in are welcome which we always put across to the top management when we meet. Then based on a business call and viability of implementing the same it is decided. example --- some custoemrs may fancy x feature in the car but most may not. Due to that x change the price will have to b increased by "y"..so again there is a business call here......feedbacks are taken but implementation is a business call based on overall market requirment.

    Thanks for the clarification Adit.

See if you can bring down any FIAT official to make TFI member. That way i feel, customers and FIAT will have more close relations, though TFI meet happened.

Also please see if you can put up a suggestion about BNW Punto to have a black Grills option. Because many folks who have bought BNW GP, have customized their grills to black which looks way awesome :)

Visited KHT again, but the 2012 model (white color) wasn't available, so I am going to get a latest 2013 model of punto dynamic 1.2 petrol. :)
Thanks to syad of KHT motors for working out the discount on accessories. It was a win-win deal for us :)
the 2013 model doesnt carry the cash discount 7.5k whereas it also has the free insurance.

I opted for seat covers black borders and grey in middle. Guys suggest me how it will go with the White punto :)
